Media Attention

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Television, newspapers, magazines, and other media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people such as public figures and celebrities. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I think television, newspapers, magazines and other media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people such as public figures and celebrities. One famous person writes his opinion on the internet, and the next day, all media are talking about it! I know it sounds weird, but it is real! The media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people! What is the hottest news? The latest sex scandal. That is REALLY personal, isn’t it? Have a think! Imagine you have a girlfriend and you really love her so you slept her. Next morning, turn on the TV and it’s talking about you and your partner! Oh my God! Terrible! However the TV, magazines, and newspapers are talking about your MOST personal things! Even though they closed the curtains, the next morning it’s on the headlines. Celebrities are not different people to you and me! They have the right to do whatever they want, while observing the law. Does the law set a limit on sex? NO! Absolutely not. I know people want to know about celebrities because they are famous. I understand, but they are entitled to their privacy, they can have secrets! This is not just for sex scandals, it’s just one example. This is an unavoidable problem. All people care about famous people, but you can control it! Have a think! ‘Oh, this is a personal problem.’ Stop taking pictures or writing about it! Imagine the shoe on the other foot. Celebrities can make little mistakes, forgive them. They are also human.
